West Highland Way
West Highland Way was Scotlands first long distance route and is by far Scotlands most popular long walks. Stretches for around 151km in total from Milngavie to Fort William. Some of us are training for this event to camp or stay in hostels. When we walk these we walk it in parts through one day. It offers stunning views and beautiful pictures. There are 8 parts to this stunning walk. Some of these parts of these are also used in other walks and events.
The terrain varies but mainly very well signposted and an easy to follow path. Lots of the terrain is very rocky and steep. Some parts to this are extremely hard, especially walking on stones.
Distance is around 151 km/94 miles which should take the average walker around 5-8 days to complete in total. Split into parts it varies between 14 – 25 km / 8.75 – 15.25 miles which is around 4 – 7 hours depending on which part is done.
