What equipment to take?
Equipment will vary from trip to trip but best to pack for all types of weather.
Wearing:
- Walking trousers
- Backpack (bladder is optional but recommended)
- Suitable walking boots/shoes
- Walking socks (optional but recommended)
- Blister plasters are best used before going walks
Backpack:
- Waterproof outer top and bottoms
- Hat & Gloves
- Bladder pack full of water
- Bottles of water/Isotonic drinks (enough for the trip)
- Food (sandwiches and fruit)
- Energy food (powerbars, mint cakes, flapjacks, anything that gives burst of energy when required)
- First Aid Kit
- Mobile phone
- Blister plasters
- Medication if required
- Spare socks
- Change of clothes if required on the walk
- Sunglasses
- Sun protection (lotions)
Optionals:
- Baselayers
- Insulating Middle layers depending on weather (can be left in the bus/car).
- Walking poles
- Camera
- Gaiters
- Midgey repellent (depending time of year)
